Ever wonder ! Why ROTI is Round?
Here is the Reason......
It is easier to press dough into round or oval shape, than any other particluar shape. The choice between round and oval is more related to aesthetics. The round shape also has a few advantages over other shapes.
Since the contour is equal from the centre in an exceedingly form, the puffing happens simply, uniformly and to the utmost extent in an exceedingly spherical roti.
For a given thickness and a particluar quantity of flour, circular form is that the most compact form.i.e. least perimeter for a given space. So, the roti is roasted additional uniformly and needs the tiniest pan for preparation.
The round shape adjusts easily in a pan which is generally round.
