Update: Take a closer look at the upcoming successor to the Mahindra Scorpio-N SUV


The official name for the Mahindra Z101 has been revealed to be the Scorpio-N. It is the successor to the aged Scorpio and its exterior design has been revealed in much detail. It has debuted in a new olive green shade which makes it look quite mature as well. We’ll get to see it in more detail as we near the launch slated for June 27. 

The existing model will be sold alongside the Scorpio-N as the two Honda Citys.

Likely to get a few cosmetic updates inside and out.

Should be powered by the base-spec S3’s 120PS 2.2-litre diesel engine with the 5-speed MT.

Likely to be offered in limited variants; to sit below the Scorpio N in Mahindra’s lineup.

Mahindra could offer the Scorpio Classic mainly to fleet operators.

Price: Its price range is expected to start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

Seating Capacity: It will be available in both six- and seven-seater configurations.

Engine and Transmission: The SUV will be powered by the same 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines found in the XUV700.

Both will come with 6-speed manual and optional 6-speed automatic transmission options. The new Scorpio will get a 4x4 drivetrain with both petrol and diesel engines.

Features: It will pack a slew of features including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, wireless phone charging, and 360-degree camera. It will also get features like connected car tech and a sunroof.

Safety: The new-gen Scorpio N is likely to get multiple airbags, a rear parking camera, hill assist control, and electronic stability control (ESC).
