WhatsApp is Set to Stop Working on These Phones From February 1

Warning message for WhatsApp users!! WhatsApp will Stop Working on Millions of Phones From 1st February.

With over 1.5 billion users, WhatsApp is the world's most used messenger app within the world. However, the company recently issued a message warning for the users that they might finish support for some android and iOS devices.

Facebook bought WhatsApp for $19 billion in 2014 and aims to integrate the communication platform into its alternative services messenger and Instagram.

In which Phones WhatsApp isn't Working?

WhatsApp has already terminated service for a few Blackberry and Nokia phones back within the year 2016. A year later, in 2017, the communication platform stopped service to choose android, Windows, and iPhones running on an older version of the software system. With 2019 almost coming to a finish WhatsApp is ending service for all phones running Windows OS and also some iPhones and Android phones running on recent OS versions.

WhatsApp won't Support These Versions from Feb 1, 2020!

Currently, the communication app supports android devices running OS 4.0.3+ and iOS devices running iOS 9+ and phones running KaiOS 2.5.1+, as well as the JioPhones. However, as per new laws, some phones running in operating systems older than these won't receive WhatsApp support from Feb 1, 2020.

Here's the list of Operating Systems that will not Support WhatsApp

• All phones running android 2.3.7 and older
• All iPhones running iOS 8 and older
• All phones that include  Windows OS

Users of these operating systems are already unable to form new WhatsApp accounts or re-verify existing accounts. They’d stopped support for Windows phones on December 31, 2019.

Why do will WhatsApp Stop Working on These Phones?

WhatsApp is stopping service for phones running on older Android and iOS versions, as a result, they don’t offer the type of capabilities the company needs to expand the app’s options within the future.

Also, the messenger app was caught napping. It recently was panned for serious security loopholes that helped Israeli spy agencies track human rights activists and journalists using the Pegasus tool.

WhatsApp will Stop Working on These Phones Instantly when Service Ends?

No, WhatsApp won't instantly stop working. The app won't receive any longer updates which will eventually finish the service.
But it'll start functioning on android 3.0 Honeycomb and later versions and on iPhones and iPad with iOS 9 and later versions.
